In 2011, a simple villa fitout in Dubai raised a question no one in the market could answer clearly: why did an LED strip from Dragon Mart cost AED 120, while a near-identical strip from an Irish brand cost AED 2,800?
A trip to the Canton Fair in Guangzhou revealed what the industry had kept quiet. Nearly every fixture in the UAE market, budget to premium, originates from the same Chinese manufacturing base. The difference is not in production. It is in routing. Budget products ship directly and carry a "Made in China" label. Premium brands manufacture in the same factories, route through Europe, and arrive with a certificate of origin and a markup that bears no relation to the quality gap.
Nakashi was founded to break that model. Over 14 years later, the company has evolved well beyond supply into a full-service lighting consultancy. But the founding principle remains: every project deserves lighting that performs at the highest level.
